Your Eye Exam

Before you can get your contact lenses you need an eye exam to determine your prescription and to ensure that you can wear contacts. It’s important to get a full eye exam so that you can be screened for eye diseases and conditions. When you have a contact lens exam, our optometrist makes sure that your eyes are healthy enough for contacts and measures the area where they will sit. After your exam, you can try on your new contacts and make sure they correct your vision effectively. 

Convenient Contacts

Many people like to wear contacts because they are so convenient during the day. They don’t require any attention after you have put them in, and many people like how easy it is to wear them. They don’t have to be adjusted or cleaned many times during the day like glasses do. Once you get your contacts in place, you won’t have to think about them anymore until it’s time to remove them. They are effective at correcting vision for a wide range of eye conditions and prescriptions. If you like to exercise or you play a sport, they are great to ear while you’re engaged in it. They won’t get foggy as you exert yourself, and they shouldn’t fall off.

The Learning Curve

If you haven’t worn contact lenses before, you will have to get used to handling them. There is a short learning curve needed to learn how to put them in and take them out easily. After you have used them for a while, you will build up muscle memory and the process will be much easier. If you have trouble with them at first, don’t give up. Keep working on insertion and removal and you will get it.
